Dylan Evans Strikes Again

Dylan Evans is a Senior Lecturer in the University of the West of England in Bristol. He’s also written a number of articles for newspapers on a variety of subjects. I first became aware of him after he wrote what I thought to be a pretty silly article in the Guardian in which, while he states he is an atheist, he did a good job of (in PZ Meyers’ words) "sucking up to religion". Now, Dylan Evans has done it again with another article in The Guardian, this time attacking Beethoven: "Beethoven was a narcissistic hooligan". The article strikes me as being just as silly and meretricious as the earlier article on atheism. I expect Evans enjoys upsetting the apple cart. It’s a pity his first name isn’t George, because then I could do my Joyce Grenfell impression of a schoolmistress and say: "George, don’t do that…"
