How Much Would You Pay…

…for a bottle of wine? Apparently, someone has just paid $100,000 for just a single bottle. Admittedly, it was a Chateau d’Yquem from 1787, but even so…

 

I wonder whether the buyer will actually drink it (and if, in fact, it is still drinkable). More likely, it will be locked away for safekeeping. Oh well, our half bottle of Chateau d’Yquem is a mere 201 years younger, but we are definitely going to drink it on a suitable occasion – it’s not a financial, but a taste investment.
