I’m a British citizen, although I have lived and worked in the Netherlands since 1983. I came here on a three year assignment, but fell in love with the country, and one Dutchman in particular, and so have stayed here ever since. On the 13th December 2006 I also became a Dutch citizen. In March, 2006, we bought a farmhouse – De Witte Wand – in the Dutch countryside and retired to a quiet life together. De Witte Wand (the White Wall) is pictured above.

For some reason, the local council in our area is very diligent about putting roadsigns everywhere. This can lead to some bizarre results – such as this "no speed limit" imposed on a dirt track…
