PZ Myers over at Pharyngula has posted this link to Lewis Black explaining judaeo-christianity. Dunno who this bloke Lewis Black is, but he hits the nail on the head a number of times for me…

You may recall I blogged about the strangely haunting video of Noah Kalina – the man who has been taking a picture of himself every day, and then making the series into a video.

 

It was only a matter of time, I suppose, before the idea was spoofed. Here’s Ben takes a photo of himself every day. It raises a smile or two.

With such an obvious target, it’s hard to miss. However, this lampoon is perhaps more subtle than most. And I did enjoy the video, which was perhaps not so subtle…

This photo dates from the 1980s. I took it on my first visit to Houston. I don’t think that the company exists any more. Looking at the subliminal message that the sign sends about the company’s engineering prowess, I can’t say that I’m overly surprised.

Idle Words submits the evidence that, next to governments and religions, airline checkins are one of the great bastions of illogical thinking.

Sometimes, I think that Mr. Duck can be unnecessarily cruel. My imagination is working overtime about the fallout from this one.

Irony is not dead.

Ever since Scott Adams (the man behind Dilbert) showed himself to be a wanker over Intelligent Design I’ve not bothered to follow his cartoons any more. Still, Dilbert pops up from time to time. This cartoon was commented on today in Language Log. Adams is mining the usual stereotypes, but I was interested to see that his efforts are pretty weak when compared to the great James Thurber.

…This joke, I mean. It reminds me of the offbeat humour of Glen Baxter.

Sometimes, the best ideas are also the simplest. But then again, as the General points out, when it comes to Dubya, many people won’t even notice the difference.

…Then we’d all be dead. Concentrated venom, or what?
