Reflections on life at “De Witte Wand”…

Spring Has Arrived

It seems as though Spring has arrived. We’ve been having good weather for the past week, and the daffodils and crocuses are in full bloom.

To celebrate, I’ve changed the blog header photo from Winter to Spring. From this:

to this (taken this morning):

Mind you, the downside is that now the garden’s woken up, there will be lots of work to do…

That little cottage of yours looks like something out of a fairytale. Add in the country road and fields and I’d call it paradise.

Thanks, JL. We certainly think it’s as close as we’ll ever get to Paradise…

Oh, I get it. Another God joke.

Just to play Devil’s Advocate, what would you do if you found out there really is such an event as St. Peter at the Pearly Gates? When you die St. Pete says, “Hey, Geoff, Welcome to Paradise!”. Do you say, “No! It cannot be. I don’t believe in Paradise. Send me to a black hole in space, if you wouldn’t mind.” ?

Well, of course I would be astounded at first, but then I would examine closely just what this afterlife would mean. I would ask for the fine print and then I would make my decision: the black hole of thankful oblivion or an endless eternity of sitting around singing praises to some narcissistic pyschopath… 🙂

Ah, a person who longs for ‘the black hole of thankful oblivion’. I’ve been there off and on.
